Installation:

Unzip to your_game_directory/res_mods/0.5.2.1
Strat/restart your game.
In game graphic settings set aspect ratio to 16:9





Alternative view is not necessary. If you mark it you wont need to press Alt key at begin of battle.







Tenryu, Kuma and Colorado. These ships may show marker at wrong position with certain hull upgrades. I know that and fix it one day(or not).

Config instructions:

Use proper text editor while changing aim.xml file. I recomend Notepad++. Make file backup before you start. Error handling is not implemented, so double check what you changed.
Config file is loaded at the begin of every battle. You dont have to restart your game client to load changed aim.xml file.

Marker is too low at all ships?

In graphic settings set aspect ratio to 16:9
To use 4:3 aspect ratio change in config:
<zoom>9.6</zoom>
<distancescale>15</distancescale>
For other proportions you have to find these values by trial and error.
First change <zoom> to move marker at proper height, then change <distancescale> to set correct marker length. By increasing zoom value marker moves up.  By increasing distancescale value marker becomes longer. 

And thats it folks. Excuse my poor english.

I don’t know if game devs trying to break this mod or not, but if they do then I believe one day they will succeed. I can’t promise this mod is going to work after next updates. We will see…

Micro update 23/12/15 12:00 CEST 
Fixed shell parameters for Gnevny, Ognevoi, Kiev, Tashkent, Udaloi.


Update 23/12/15
Fixed BB spoter planes. (“fixed” is  big word. Before you shoot have closer look at direction of ship movement  as marker may be drawn with not correct angle.)
Some DD ships config may be wrong. Tashkent Nicholas etc. I have to wait until I get training room mod to fix it.

Hitlog i will prepare after christmas. I had no possibility to test it yet. If You have to have it now. Install hitlog then aimassist and edit battle_elements.xml.
There is 2 lines to copy from hitlog mod file to aimassist mod file.

DISCLAIMER:

This will make your game fly even on a toaster but it also make the game unstable.

This should be done ONLY on a SD client.
Make a backup of  World_of_Tanksrespackages folder before attempting this.
You are using this on your own risk !!!



9.13 Texture Compression By Kir_Vik (6%, 12%, 25%, 50%)




OK, here we go:


(ALL THE PICTURES ARE FROM 9.9, THE PROCEDURE IS TOTALLY THE SAME FOR 9.13 I’M JUST TO LAZY TO MAKE NEW SCREENSHOTS)

1. Go to the end of this post and chose one of the download links. The smaller the number %, the greater is the compression (6% compression is around 16mb, 50% compression is around 650mb, you get the idea. Smaller texture size – bigger FPS)

2. When you press the download link, you will be transferred to a shrink address site, just wait 5 seconds (or 15 if you use addblock):



After 5 seconds a “SKIP THIS ADD” button will appear, click on it:





You will be redirected to MEGA (file sharing site), click on the download button:






The download will start.

3. Create a folder anywhere you want. We will use that folder to unpack the file that we are downloading. Unpack the files into that folder:




4. Depending on what you want do compress you can chose from:


  • Trees, grass etc (foliage)

  • Objects (house textures)

  • Ground (rocks, ground textures)

  • Tanks (tank textures)

  • Map border

  • Tanks camo

  • Tank Tracks (yes, they too take some of the fps on toasters)

We will go for the “Install All Textures”:




This will open a Command Prompt window and the textures will unpack into the folder where you unpacked your downloaded files (wait for the Command Prompt window to close.):

5. Inside the new folder there is a whole bunch of files and folders. You need to copy ALL of them to “game location”World_of_Tanksrespackages:




7. After you copy ALL files, double click on the file called “autoinstall_[9.x].bat” (this file must be in the “game location”World_of_Tanksrespackages):




This will again open a Command Prompt window and start the actual texture installation. 
Wait for the Command Prompt window to close.All done…
